Basketball Development & Training
.
Basketball players are incredible athletes. They are fast, agile and lean, and they also have excellent endurance and powers of recovery. A typical NCAA Division I player can complete the 40 yard speed test in 5 seconds and can jump over 70cm in the vertical jump test making them exceptionally powerful and quick.
.
It's no surprise that strength conditioning and plyometric training composes an important part of a players' ELiTE training. Both strength and power training has been consistently shown to improve speed, acceleration and jumping ability.
.
Basketball players make some very specific demands on their body and to be truly effective, your basketball training should reflect those demands. BALLER ELiTE will teach players training techniques and drills that they can do on their own to help them to maintain their long term development.
.
ELiTE Player Nutrition .
This summer the BALLER ELiTE program will have several sessions to help players understand the importance of Nutrition and the key role it plays in an athlete’s performance. The quality and quantity of the food you eat, and when to eat it, makes a great difference in the way athletes practice and compete. Matching an athlete’s diet with the level of training and exercise, and pre-game meals can optimize nutrition for peak performance. Athletes need to consider good nutrition so that they will be able to develop strong bodies while, at the same time, storing the necessary energy needed for endurance during training and competition.
Our Philosophy
.
Training over a longer period of time athletes can maximize repetition and continuously train a group of skills. That is why our skill development program is during the off-season.
As Canada Basketball and the OBA move towards the Long Term Athletic Development (LTAD), we will continue to work athletes to help them develop their basketball skills and athletic traning training. Through our network of Professionals, Coaches, Trainers, University and Professional players we will continue to develop our athletes to successfully compete at the High School, University and Internation levels. |
